Designing your organization, and how work flows from one part of the company to the next, is a job that will continue to be one of your main responsibilities as a leader. The underlying structure of a company is ultimately what determines everything else.
This is exactly why it’s important to constantly question if what you are doing is important and makes you happy. Sometimes we keep doing things out of habit, but they are no longer aligned with who we currently are or want to be.
When we see clearly, we can make better decisions. The more we can see, from every angle, even what we don’t like, the more we can consider, and this will help us make choices that encompass more and will therefore produce better results.
A company’s structure is often unseen, yet it is the skeleton that holds everything together and gives a company its shape.
As entrepreneurs and leaders, we also tend to be creators. Creators are those that bring forth into existence something that would not otherwise have been, even if the idea already exists.
Being a parent is the hardest job. My advice is: above all, be flexible and do not be hard on yourself. Balancing parenthood and work is difficult, and we must all find our solutions.
